A good rooftop escape
Each morning, I was greeted by the smell of freshly baked pastries, while the staff's warmth was like a hug. A lovely rooftop terrace added to our wonderful evenings under the stars.
I wish the room had better air conditioning as some nights felt a tad warm. After a long day of exploring, it would have been nice to return to a perfectly cool room.

Really enjoyed breathtaking views.
I had standard room which was huge, very comfy bed. The setting was magnificent, adjacent to Malcesine and the cable car to Monte Baldo, good restaurants and cafes and a ferry. Plus, Slipstream Sculpture was a few steps.

The truth you're looking for
Spotlessly clean accommodations with friendly staff. The rooftop area provides a lovely space to unwind after exploring the vibrant streets nearby. Breakfast is basic but good, catering to various tastes. Room 303 was well-kept, and the location couldn't be better, just a short walk to attractions!

I expected a double bed but was given two singles mashed together. I was practically freezing with a tiny blanket. Plus, climbing four different types of stairs to reach my room woudl ve been amusing if it weren't so exhausting. Its amazing how they still call themselves a 4-star hotel. Almost left a good review, but just couldn't.

I didn't feel like leaving, spent fantastic time and can just recommend. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, I appreciated its welcoming staff. Booked a room with magnificent views of the lake. Location: the venue was really close to desert and centre of town food. The breakfasts were great and the service was excellent!

Not a bad hotel in the heart of Riva.
Furniture and plumbing are worn out, there are questions for room cleaning.

We had a blast exploring the nearby areas with windsurfing and sailing. The super nice team and the rooftop terrace was a great spot for evening drinks. Breakfast had plenty of options.
The air conditioning in our room wasn't very powerful, made some nights a bit uncomfortable.

Food was always good with a varied choice over the week. Rooms were nice and modern and very well maintained. Good value for money. Once we booked the hotel a member of staff e-mailed us to offer her assistance and answer any questions which was very helpful.
Bar area was very small. They dont provide internet in the rooms, wireless time has to be purchased at reception and used in the reception area. No parking on site, but I gather they do have an agreement with another hotel to park nearby, Best to speak to the hotel before arriving to arrange this.

Hotel Antico Borgo is perfectly situated to explore Riva and Lake Garda and the surrounding area. We joined family there and one evening Italian relatives came to join us for dinner and the hotel was very accommodating. The food choice in the hotel is typically Italian which being part Italian we loved, I did over hear guests moaning about the food but to be honest what do they expect to eat in an Italian hotel??? The dining room staff were excellent and very professional. My father is in a wheelchair and the staff were excellent with assisting where required. There is car parking facilities in a near by underground private section of a car park and is well worth the small daily cost. The cleanliness of the hotel is superb and we had clean towels everday. I would recommend the hotel to family & friends and will more than happily return in the future.
The biggest problem with the hotel is the stairs and the layout if the hotel... The layout I appreciate cannot be changed but the hotel has 2 lifts, 1 in reception and 1 on the first floor of the left hand side of the hotel but to reach this lift to access other floors on the left of the hotel means climbing numerous stairs which is unacceptable for the less mobile people. We were very disappointed when we arrived as the lady on reception never mentioned the second lift. We travelled with my partners mother and Father who has a bad knee. My father in law and my mum who was already resident in the hotel went to look for our rooms while we went to park the car, when we got back to the hotel we found out the upset that had occurrd due to the fact that we were situated to the left of the hotel where the lift was on the 1st floor up various stairs... The hotel had no other rooms and could not do anything about the allocated rooms. We didn't allow this to spoil the holiday but this should be something that yourselves and the hotel should make clear on you web site. Luckily it wasn't my father who is in a wheelchair.

A commendable fit for a weekend getaway in Riva del Garda with really good value. The solarium offers fine mountain views that were a highlight of our stay. Bring a kettle if you enjoy tea or coffee in your room.
